Jason Weil designed this house in 2016, not for a client but in conjunction with the builder who ultimately built it for himself and his family. They chose this half-acre site in North Asheville for its balance of year-round mountain views and wooded privacy.

The setting shapes the experience. Partially cleared and partially wooded, the upper levels sit within a natural canopy, treehouse-like in summer, with mountain views opening wide in winter.
